Cette thèse se base sur l’observation qu’il existe de plus en plus de tentatives mêlant littérature de science-fiction et son – sous toutes ses formes ; musique, poésie, performance, création sonore etc. Ces œuvres hybrides et transmédiales, parfois transfictionnelles, pourraient appartenir à un sous-genre émergent de la S-F., la « science-fiction sonore » : c’est en tout cas l’hypothèse défendue par ce travail. Il s’agira d’abord d’analyser ce qui a posé le terreau théorique nécessaire à l’émergence d’un tel courant : les « années Limite », entre légitimation et redéfinition du genre. Cela permettra ensuite de conceptualiser les enjeux et les potentialités de ces expérimentations d’avant-garde, autant sur un plan formel (potentiel immersif des dispositifs), littéraire (invention de nouveaux langages, innovations narratives, poétisation de la prose), que politique (esthétique de la transgression, thématiques dissidentes). Cette partie théorique s’articulera avec une partie créative intitulée La forêt de Bruisséliandre, roman expérimental qui tâchera d’appliquer et d’approfondir les résultats de ces recherches.

This project is motivated by the desire to address the recent literary attempts to bring science-fiction and sound (from music, poetry, performance, to sound creation) together. This thesis will discuss the potentiality to define these hybrid, transmediatic and even sometimes transfictional works as a science fiction sub-genre: sound science-fiction.This will first be explored through the analysis of the theoretical ground on which science-ficition rests: les annéees limites. Héloïse Brézillon will thus attempt to conceptualise the stakes and potentialities of these avant-garde experiments. This will be achieved through the study of science-ficition’s legitimisation as a genre, its redefinition and the political issues their transgressive aesthetics tackles and generates. Additionally, she will investigate the immersive potential of diverse devices used through the works, and the invention of new languages and narrative innovations they generate. This theoretical side of the thesis is going to be articulated with a creative one called “The Bruisséliandre Forest”, an experimental novel aiming to carry out and go into the result of these researches in depth.
