Le projet doctoral émerge de deux observations relatives à ce qu’on pourrait nommer la « psyché » du temps présent. Le constat d’une part, depuis quelques années, d’une infiltration de la géologie dans les esprits, le langage et les pratiques contemporaines. D’autre part, aux côtés de ce géologique à l’œuvre et des formes qu’il génère, l’observation depuis trois ou quatre ans de l’émergence de ce qui pourrait être un nouveau psychédélisme dans les travaux de très jeunes artistes. Une exploration historique à la recherche des sources de ces deux phénomènes a fait émerger l’hypothèse d’un « cycle d’inquiétudes » dont, possiblement, nous vivons l’un des épisodes, le précédant se situant dans les années 1960, puis avant cela au tournant du siècle dernier. Cette recherche prend forme de trois façons distinctes : la réalisation d’un film au Japon, un projet curatorial, et un travail d’atelier combinant pratique formelle et écriture.

The doctoral project arises from two observations linked to what one might call the "psyche" of the present time. The observation on the one hand, in recent years, of an infiltration of geology into contemporary minds, languages and practices. On the other hand, alongside this geological state of mind and the forms it generates, the observation (over the last three or four years) of the emergence of what could be new psychedelia in the work of very young artists. A historical exploration in search of the sources of these two phenomena has led to the hypothesis of a "cycle of anxiety" of which, possibly, we are experiencing one episode, the preceding one being in the 60s, and before at the turn of the nineteenth century. This research will take three different paths: the making of a film in Japan, a curatorial project, and regular studio work combining art practice and writing.
