La thèse de Thomas Payré entend contribuer au partage de l'expérience traumatique de l’"ordinaire" pendant le Confinement, en se focalisant plus particulièrement sur l’expérience individuelle et collective des étudiants confinés seuls. L’isolement, la poursuite d’un avenir incertain, les cours en distanciel et l’autosubsistance dans une pièce de quelques mètres carrés à peine, font de l’"ordinaire" d’un étudiant isolé en temps de Confinement une expérience d’autant plus traumatique (CHARBONNIER et al. 2021) et dont la littérature du Confinement actuelle ne présente quasiment aucune trace. Prenant en considération la dimension "épochale" du Confinement pour l’étudiant, pour qui cette période suspendue désoriente l’expérience ordinaire (SIMON 2020 ; HALMI 2021 ; VELASCO et al. 2022), il s’agira d’exploiter le potentiel littéraire de la description phénoménologique, afin d’en comprendre le caractère singulier. La description de l’expérience des choses-mêmes, c’est-à-dire telles qu’elles sont vécues par l’étudiant, permettrait d’explorer littérairement l’"ordinaire" oppressant qui conduit dans le cadre estudiantin à une mort sociale (par l’isolement imposé) et une mort psychique (liée à l’enfermement), bien plus qu’à une mort physique (par le virus) ou à une mort collective (nourrie par la crainte d’un effondrement lié aux crises sanitaires, économiques et écologiques) (TISSERON 2020).S’appuyant sur des témoignages récoltés au cours d’entretiens individuels avec des étudiants isolés pendant les périodes de quarantaine, Thomas Payré propose l’écriture d’un journal fictif "intéressant" (SARTRE 1977), c’est-à-dire un journal qui permettrait de guérir le traumatisme de l’expérience de l’"ordinaire" confiné (GATEAU et FLEURY 2021). Ce journal se déploiera sous la forme d’une longue description phénoménologique de l’ordinaire entre quatre murs, où les sentiments de claustration (SARTRE 1981 ; LYOTARD 2003), d’isolement (SARTRE 1981 ; COULOMB 2009 ; KRUEGER et al. 2023), d’incertitude et d’ennui (SODEIKA 2020) seront exploités littérairement comme des phénomènes traumatiques de l’"ordinaire" en Confinement.

Thomas Payré's thesis aims to contribute to the sharing of the traumatic experience of the 'ordinary' during the Lockdown, focusing in particular on the individual and collective experience of students confined by themselves. Isolation, the pursuit of an uncertain future, distance-learning courses and self-subsistence in a room barely a few square metres in size, make the 'ordinary' of an isolated student during the Lockdown an all the more traumatic experience (CHARBONNIER et al. 2021), of which there is virtually no trace in the current literature on the Lockdown. Taking into consideration the 'epochal' dimension of the Lockdown for the student, for whom this suspended period disorients ordinary experience (SIMON 2020; HALMI 2021; VELASCO et al. 2022), the aim will be to exploit the literary potential of phenomenological description, in order to understand its singular character. Describing the experience of things themselves, i.e. as they are experienced by the student, would make it possible to explore in literary terms the oppressive 'ordinariness' that leads in the student environment to a social death (through imposed isolation) and a psychic death (linked to confinement), much more than to a physical death (through the virus) or a collective death (fueled by the fear of collapse linked to health, economic and ecological crises) (TISSERON 2020).Based on testimonies gathered during individual interviews with students isolated during periods of quarantine, Thomas Payré proposes the writing of an 'interesting' fictional diary (SARTRE 1977), i.e. a diary that would heal the trauma of the experience of confined 'ordinariness' (GATEAU and FLEURY 2021). This diary will take the form of a lengthy phenomenological description of the ordinary within four walls, where feelings of claustration (SARTRE 1981; LYOTARD 2003), isolation (SARTRE 1981; COULOMB 2009; KRUEGER et al. 2023), uncertainty and boredom (SODEIKA 2020) will be literary exploited as traumatic phenomena of the 'ordinary' during the Lockdown experience.
